At Robins Air Force Base, our team completed a comprehensive MEP design package for Building 1549, focused on upgrading the ventilation system in the maintenance shop’s pesticide chemical mixing room. The scope included replacing the existing non-compliant exhaust hood system with a high-performance exhaust fan, adding a MAU to meet capture velocity and air quality standards, and ensuring compliance with AFPMB Technical Guide No. 17 for pest management operations.

In support of the mechanical upgrades, a full electrical system redesign was executed. This included the installation of a new 225 kVA pad-mount transformer, reconfigured service entrance equipment, and dedicated panels to support the added mechanical load. The design prioritized code compliance and safe ventilation practices to ensure the safe handling and containment of chemical fumes within the facility, while maintaining proper building pressurization.
