Buildings 3405 and 3425 FAMNS
Our team provided comprehensive QFPE (Qualified Fire Protection Engineer) consulting and code compliance support for the HVAC and life safety upgrades at Buildings 3405 and 3425 at Fort Moore. The scope included detailed reviews and approvals of construction submittals, in-progress construction observation, and witnessing final performance testing of smoke detectors, duct detectors, tamper switches, and flow switches throughout multiple wings and floors of each building.
Key services involved resolving conflicts in equipment placement—such as relocating floor control valve assemblies (FCVAs) to maintain required egress clearances—and ensuring compliance with NFPA 101 and UFC 3-600-01 standards. Our team also addressed specific code concerns involving the proximity of smoke detectors to HVAC diffusers, proper strobe placement in mechanical rooms, and reinstallation of detection devices in sleeping quarters to satisfy applicable codes.
