US Coast Guard Exchange
The scope of work for the U.S. Coast Guard Exchange renovation project in Mobile, AL, included comprehensive Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) upgrades to the existing structures. The electrical renovation involved a full rework of the power distribution system. This included replacing the main switchgear, installing new panelboards, and rerouting existing circuits to accommodate updated layouts and code-compliant configurations. Interior lighting was upgraded and emergency lighting systems were enhanced with battery backup units for improved life safety. Power receptacles were relocated or added per revised room configurations, and systems were coordinated to support new equipment and layouts.
On the mechanical side, the HVAC systems were re-evaluated and replaced as necessary to ensure adequate conditioning throughout the renovated facility. This involved the selection and installation of new split-system units, ductwork realignment, and coordination with architectural and structural components to preserve ceiling and wall integrity. Plumbing renovations included updating restroom fixtures to ADA-compliant models and rerouting water supply and drainage systems in line with new layouts. All MEP work was coordinated closely with fire protection designs and ensured conformance with federal renovation standards and Coast Guard-specific operational requirements.
